LIVELY ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT

PHENIX CITY, ALABAMA

As an integral catalyst project for the Urban Revitalization Plan for Phenix City, Alabama, the Lively Entertainment District redirects an underutilized portion of river facing property. By redefining 12th Street and 5th Avenue as curbless festival streets and framing the edges of the flexible lawn, the adjacent mixed-use buildings are able to utilize a flexible and active open space overlooking the Chattahoochee River. The plan creates meaningful connections to the river including an ADA accessible path to the existing Riverwalk.
